A direct monetary awards program for Black Americans — acknowledging the centuries of unpaid labor, legal discrimination, and systemic exclusion that created the generational wealth gap we see today.
From 1619 to 1865, enslaved Black Americans generated an estimated $14 trillion in unpaid labor — the economic foundation upon which American prosperity was built. After emancipation, Jim Crow laws, redlining, and systemic exclusion continued to strip Black Americans of wealth, land, and opportunity for another century.
The Black Renaissance Foundation's awards program is a direct, tangible acknowledgment of this debt — not charity, not a handout, but a long-overdue payment for labor stolen and wealth denied.
"The promise of forty acres and a mule was broken. We are here to make it right."
"Reparations are not a gift. They are the return of what was taken."
